Brabourne Stadium – Mumbai (Famous Cricket Stadium)
This, very famous Brabourne Stadium is located just near churchgate station, at few minutes walkable distance and is owned by Cricket Club of India (CCI). Lots of cricket matches have been played since 1937, a period this Stadium was formed which has an approximate seating capacity of 20 to 22,000 people. It was been named as Brabourne after ‘Lord Brabourne’ who was governor of Mumbai (Bombay, at that time).
This Stadium is this place where Sachin tendulkar made is double century for the first time, and whole crowd in that stadium was shouting and clapping for the Young cricketer of India. Similarly lots of test matches has been played in this stadium. Another near by stadium is ‘Wankhede Stadium’ which was built after a dispute between Cricket club of India and Mumbai Cricket association.
How to reach Brabourne Stadium
From Airport a person needs to get a Taxi (Cab) or alternately Local Train Towards south of Mumbai which takes about 45 mins in train and get down at Churchgate Station, and from there it can be said as walkable distance. Also see picture and Photos of Brabourne Stadium in some time later.
