Competition at Yashwant Nagar Cricket Ground
Year 2013, Yashwant Nagar’s Ameya Classic Club Organized ‘Kites Competition’ at Yashwant Nagar cricket ground located in Virar (West), Far north suburban location of Mumbai city which still has huge open green plots and fresher air compared to the city.
Naturally the wind flow is better and suitable for flying kites at the festive season day of ‘Makar Sankranti’, the Kite’s Festival day.
For year 2015, the competition was held at Old Viva college ground, Virar (West), Timings between : 11:00 Am to 7:00 Pm.
About 30 to 40 participants were seen at cricket ground of Ameya Classic Club which also has Swimming Pool, Indoor Games, Gym, Skating Zone and More. Respected local politicians (Aamdar, Mahapore and others) like Shri Hitendra Thakur, Rajeev Patil were among those active kite flyers enjoying high flying kites with children around. Surely a day to recollect and cherish Childhood memories for them.
Below is a video clip of same event and hope this kind of safe kite flying events be always in and around Mumbai city forever.
