A Personal Experience to Share
Just to help you with a personal experience, i was looking for a ‘Air Filter’ for my car and a local automobile spare parts dealer near home priced Rs.350, Same car filter i purchase for Rs.220 at this automobile market at opera house. To make it a point, when i asked for Genuine Original part for my X brand car, One of the dealers showed me same China / Local Spare with a printed label with costing and other details etc packed in local plastic bag and has simple sticker of that car brand.
I reached another dealer shops just couple of shops ahead and asked for two different variant and their prices, He said ‘Sir, sab same he hota hai’, which means everything is same, they just stick labels and stickers and show with higher price. So to help with, just a sticker with some pricing details and brand label don’t always mean a genuine X brand car spare which is again packed in local plastic bag. So be careful and go with some experienced guy to make out the difference.

Nearest railway station to reach is Charni Road (East), From railway station take left road that goes towards grant road direction, It has Vijay Sales and Tribhuvandas Bhimji Zaveri Showrooms immediately seen from railway station itself. Go straight and you will come across Renovated Royal Opera House which was once a cinema theatre and now for various art and related events. Take first right which is JSS road or from main junction you will reach the location between Prarthana Samaj & Dr. DD Sathe Marg lane from where all automobile spare market starts at walking distance.
As said, these 2 Main lanes with spare parts shops is located between Prarthana Samaj and Opera house area namely Dr. DD Sathe Marg at Bhatwadi, Girgaon and JSS Road towards Opera House. If you are coming from Grant Road, reach Harkisandas Hospital and take first right which goes towards Opera house and then immediately first left on opposite side of the road where flower garland seller are seen near a Junction (Land Mark SBI ATM). That lane is Dr. DD Sathe marg with lots of bike and cars parked outside shops major selling car spares. It ends on other side of road (a T-Connect to JSS Road) which goes towards Opera house, which also have few shops (See Map) and dealers list below.
