The Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals gives pet crematory services and is one of the biggest Pet hospitals in Mumbai for any illness, surgery, etc.

They have both Pet Burial and electric Cemetery services 24 hours a day, as well as ambulance services for pet bodies. The freezing morgue (Pet Carcass Deep Freezer) is also available at reasonable charges for those who need to wait for others for final rites.

All pets are treated equally, regardless of breed or size. The pandir or priest is available for guiding the Burial or cemetary process of pets. Upon finishing the last rites process, the remains and ashes are also provided to the pet owner if demanded. The staff has a very polite, empathetic, and helping attitude. BSPCA also provides funeral ritual-related pooja thali, Diya, Haldi, and kumkum with incense sticks. If required, a person can carry fresh flowers to the Burial site or cemetery. Also, carry a utensil if required to collect ashes and remains.

The entire process takes about an hour, and one can just walk according to the timings mentioned below for rituals. They do have a contact number, But many times it goes unreceived. Mobile Pet Cremation Electric Van

In July 2023, Mumbai got its first Mobile Electric van for Pet cremation from an NGO called ‘Happy Buds Foundation’. Operational for services at the major three stations and surrounding locations of Dahisar, Borivali, and Kandivali, which are a few of the many crowded suburban locations of Mumbai North on the western railway route.

This van, primarily located at IC Colony Pet Park, Borivali West, will move around for its services for Stray and Private pets (Dogs and Cats) for a perfect eco-friendly crematorium for a nominal fee of Rs. 3000 for last rites and funerals of beloved pets.

The entire process will take no more than 30 minutes as the van arrives at your doorstep for electric crematory services. The only required document that is needed by the pet owner is the ‘No Objection’ letter from society for the van to do the needful inside society.

Pet Heavens – Dog Cat Burial and Cremation Service

For Bhayander pet owners who have a dog or Cat, A proper Pet funeral service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Both Burial and Fire rites are done. All those residing in the suburbs of Mumbai beyond Dahisar can avail of these services, as the pet hospital and Crematory services at Parel, as detailed above, are far away.

More Pet Crematory and Burial Options in Suburban

Cattle and Dog Pound at Evershine Nagar, Malad West.

Malad is one of the three major electric cement incinerators that were proposed in 2018. For some reasons, the execution process of setting up these Pet cemeteries was pending until 2022. In 2022, finally, the Cattle and Dog Pound located at Malad (West), Evershine Nagar, was said to be started, and the first installation of an incinerator was announced. It is already 2023, and until May, it was not ready for services.

I will update this location on the same if and when Malad’s pet electric crematory is operational by BMC. Two more BMC incinerators are said to be getting installed at Deonar and Mahalaxmi, and exact updates about the same are still not available.

Pratapnagar Hindu Smashan Bhumi

I am not very sure of this cemetery, But Pratapnagar Hindu Smashan Bhumi, located at 4, Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR), Gupha Tekdi, Jogeshwari East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400060, does pet Burial and Cremation too.

The Kora Kendra Center

The Kora Kendra Center NGO, run by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, with an office at Vile Parle Address: ‘Gramodaya’, 3, Irla Road, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai 400056, provides pet burial and cremation for private pets and also free services for stray animals. They provide pickup services upon acknowledgment and do not charge for them.
